New tumbleblog
This blog is going to be where I talk about what goes on and what I learn at Interaction 10 this next week in Savannah. I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a new blog to focus more on my UX work, and I just can’t bring myself to deal with yet another WordPress installation, so I’ll use Tumblr for the time being.
About Me
I’ve been a web developer for the past 10 years or so, getting my start in web development when I came ever-so-close to going to school for graphic design, but ended up going to the University of Minnesota for Computer Science instead. I had also briefly flirted with a Journalism major before transferring to a smaller school and finally getting my degree in Computer Science.
I’m pretty much all self-taught when it comes to things like Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML/CSS, usability, PHP, Perl, Java, Ruby, etc.
I’m currently employed by an aviation meteorology company based out of the Denver, CO area, where I’m able to combine my technical skills and my weather nerd tendencies in one job. During a typical day I’ll wear my software developer and UX hats.
One topic I hope to cover in the near future is my transition to UX. But more on that later.
You can follow me on Twitter at @tcollen, or email me at tcollen at gmail dot com. See you in Savannah!
